Green-fingered adults offered bags of help

GREEN-FINGERED adults with learning disabilities and autism have been given the opportunity to spend more time outdoors.

Eco Work-Shop in Stratford has been nominated for the Tesco Bags of Help scheme which awards funding to community projects based on shoppers’ votes.

Extra funds will help make the garden wheelchair accessible, with raised beds for wheelchair users, a storage shed and a greenhouse.

Eco Work-Shop director Sue Morrison said: “We are thrilled to have been nominated for this wonderful scheme. The funds will make a tremendous difference to the people we support by providing essential equipment for our garden project.”

Voting is open in Tesco stores throughout January and February. Customers will cast their vote using a token given to them at the check-out in store each time they shop.

Visit www.work-shop.org.uk to find out more about the workshop and www.tesco.com/bagsofhelp for details of the grant scheme.
