Great outdoors beckons for Warwickshire families this Easter

THE GREAT outdoors beckons for Warwickshire families this Easter.

The county’s Country Parks Education Rangers are hosting events at Ryton Pools Country Park and Kingsbury Water Park.

They include egg hunts and a series of nature and wildlife themed sessions, at which youngsters can toast hot cross buns and marshmallows over a campfire, make miniature boats and watch them set sail, get to know countryside critters, and get creative with a range of crafts.

Ryton Pools Country Park has also revamped its pirate trail.

Warwickshire County Council’s environment spokeswoman Coun Heather Timms said: “Spring is one of the most special times of year to enjoy Warwickshire’s country parks.

“There are so many benefits to spending time outdoors and in nature, from improving mental and physical health to fostering a deeper connection with our environment. I hope many people will have the opportunity to experience this over the Easter break and beyond.”

Meanwhile, the Easter Bunny has left a trail of eggs around Draycote Water reservoir near Rugby, where visitors can pick up a sheet, follow the trail and answer some questions to win a prize.

The trails run between 10am-6pm until Sunday April 14. Visit www.stwater.co.uk/our-visitor-sites for more information.
