A GARDEN village has received a £300,000 government cash boost.

Stratford District Council secured the money which will be used on applications and to help planners look at design, public transport and environmental health at Long Marston Garden Village.

It brings the total spent on the project to date to £530,000.

District planning spokeswoman Coun Daren Pemberton said: “The capacity funding will help fund dedicated staff, studies and assessments that are vital to the delivery of a successful garden village. This is key to ensure we have the right resources to deliver high quality new communities where residents will enjoy a high quality of life.”

The village will include 3,500 dwellings, shops, two primary schools and a secondary school.
