Four machines at Stratford Rec car park remain out of action after vandal attack

Stratford Editorial 22nd Jun, 2015 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016   0

FOUR parking machines remain out of action after vandals struck at the Recreation Ground car park.

Seven of the ten pay and display parking machines were damaged in the recent attack and although six of them are now operational, four remain unusable.

Signs directing motorists to the working machines have been put up by Stratford District Council, which is responsible for maintaining the machines.

And the authority is also encouraging motorists to use its RingGo cashless system.

The mobile phone service allows motorists to pay for parking by credit or debit card, rather than with cash at a pay machine and is available at all district-council operated car parks in the town – except for Bridgeway multi-storey and surface pay on foot car parks.

Motorists using the car park are still expected to pay and parking notices will be issued to anyone who has not paid or who overstays their allotted time allowance.

It is not yet known when the vandalised machines will be back up and running.
