First Neighbourhood Plan in Stratford adopted

Stratford Editorial 28th Apr, 2016 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016   0

THE FIRST Neighbourhood Plan in Stratford district has been officially adopted.

Members of Stratford District Council unanimously decided to rubber-stamp the Long Compton Neighbourhood Development Plan at a meeting on Monday (April 25).

It follows a referendum in March where residents were asked whether they wanted the council to use the village’s neighbourhood plan when deciding on planning applications in the area.

More than 92 per cent of voters were in favour of the move.

The first of its kind to be made in the district, the Long Compton Neighbourhood Development Plan is the culmination of over three years work by the parish council, neighbourhood plan steering group and the community.

It will now form part of the district’s overall development plan.
