FIREFIGHTERS were called to release a horse trapped in a horse box in Alcester.

A fire crew from Alcester and the Large Animal Rescue Unit from Rugby were called at around 9pm on Saturday (August 6) to the A422 Arrow.

The animal had become stuck across a partition in the horse box.

A vet sedated the horse before crews used lifting gear to release the uninjured animal.
