Finalists of Stratford's Independent Shop Awards announced

Stratford Editorial 9th Apr, 2016 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016

THE FINALISTS for Stratford’s Independent Shop Awards have been announced.

MP Nadhim Zahawi introduced the awards last year to showcase the best independent businesses in the constituency.

And some 2,000 people nominated their choices over six categories – Best Independent Shop, Best Café, Best Restaurant, Best Pub, Best Village Shop and Best Hotel or Bed and Breakfast –  and judges narrowed down the hundreds of businesses nominated into the finalists.

Mr Zahawi said: “I was delighted after the success of my first Independent Shop Awards, that the people of Stratford have again taken part in such huge numbers to nominate their favourite places to eat, drink, stay or shop.

“I’d like to thank everyone who took part, but mostly I want to celebrate the excellence and quality of the independent businesses we have throughout this area.

“These independent businesses are the lifeblood of our towns and villages and it has been a fantastic opportunity to say thank you, whether they’re in Stratford or Shipston, Welford or Alcester, Long Compton or Henley.”

The winners will be announced at the RSC’s Other Place a ceremony on April 29.

Touch FM will be providing the prize of free radio advertising to the winners in each category.
