A WOMAN had to be airlifted to hospital after a two car crash near Clifford Chambers.

Emergency services – including the Midlands Air Ambulance – were called to Clifford Lane around 7.45am on Thursday (August 28).

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews arrived to find two cars that had been in a serious collision.

“Both vehicles had suffered significant damage and the woman driving one car – believed to be in her early 60’s – suffered serious abdominal and hip injuries.”

The woman was cut from her car by the fire service and then airlifted to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire where she underwent further emergency treatment.

It is understood the man driving the second car – believed to be in his mid 20’s – suffered neck and back pain in the crash.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Worcester Royal Hospital.
