A DRIVER had a lucky escape after crashing into historic Clopton Bridge in Stratford.
The 72-year-old woman’s Mercedes car hit the wall along the bridge as she was heading away from the town centre around midnight on Saturday (January 25).
She was rescued and taken to hospital as a precaution.
The bridge was closed for a time while her car was removed and the bridge made safe.
