Dogs trust calls for volunteers

Stratford Editorial 27th Oct, 2018   0

DOG lovers in Stratford are needed to lend a paw at Dogs Trust.

The charity is calling for volunteers to help support the hundreds of unwanted and abandoned dogs who come through the doors of its Honiley branch.

Pups are rehomed across the region, but Stratford is short of people to carry out home checks when a dog is found a home.

So the charity is calling on anyone with some spare time to sign up to become a home visitor.

Volunteer coordinator Marie Charley said: “Volunteers are extremely important to us and we couldn’t care for as many dogs as we do without their help.

“We rehome lots of dogs to people in Stratford so we rely on volunteers for this because of their local area knowledge and flexibility to travel to towns that may be a bit further afield to us, enabling staff to stay with the dogs in the kennels as they await their forever homes. If you think you could spare some time to lend a hand, please get in touch.”

Anyone interested in volunteeering can email [email protected] or call 0300 303 0292 to speak to Marie.
