Dog lovers urged to help raise pounds for hounds

Stratford Editorial 23rd May, 2018   0

DOG lovers are being called upon to raise pounds for homeless hounds at the Dogs Trust Kenilworth Fun Day.

The charity is holding the annual event at Hatton Country World on Sunday June 10, between 11am and 4pm.

Highlights include a rehoming parade, demonstrations from local dog clubs and the prison service, a raffle, giant tombola, games, stalls and refreshments.

But the charity is calling on those interested in running a stall to get in touch. It also still needs prize donations for the raffle and tombola.

Spokeswoman Jane Hirons said: “Our fun day is a fantastic opportunity to meet local dog lovers and raise pounds for the homeless hounds in our care. There are all sorts of fun activities planned throughout the day so please come along and support Dogs Trust Kenilworth, we can promise you a really fun day out for all the family.

“The raffles, games and stalls play a huge role in the day, and we still have a number of spaces left for stallholders at the event. Previously, there has been array of stalls selling anything from homemade doggy treats, to pet portrait commissions and trinkets for the home. Spots are limited so we are encouraging people to get in touch as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

“We’re expecting thousands of visitors on the day, so it’s a great opportunity to be among lots of people and join in the fun with two and four-legged friends.”

Entrance to the fun day is £2 for adults and 50p per child. Dogs are also welcome.

Donated prizes for the raffle can be dropped at the rehoming centre in Honiley.
