District's most vulnerable receive essential deliveries

Stratford Editorial 15th Apr, 2020   0

HUNDREDS of essential deliveries have been sent to the most vulnerable across Stratford district.

Those with serious underlying medical conditions have been advised by government to isolate for 12 weeks in a bid to protect themselves from coronavirus.

And to ensure those without support have supplies, Stratford District Council has been working with Warwickshire County Council and volunteers to provide essentials to more than 300 residents.

But they say due to the speed the operation has been set up residents will have been missed and are urging those who need help to get in touch.

Council community hub spokesman Robert Weeks said: “There will inevitably be some people who don’t get what they need when they are expecting it, but I want to reassure people we are here to help. There are also many community groups that have been established at this time across the district at a local level, who are here to help such individuals.

“It’s not a perfect system and we are working with what we have and hopefully making a difference to those that need it.”

Those who are clinically vulnerable can call 0800 4081447 for social support.
