MARROWS were drawn at Wellesbourne and Walton Horticultural Society’s Autumn Show at the weekend.
And it wasn’t just the contest for the biggest marrow which was closely fought.
Residents of the two villages submitted their prize-winning fruit and veg in a host of categories at the produce-growing extravaganza held at Wellesbourne Sports and Community Centre on Saturday (September 3).
There were also categories for flowers, floral art and crafts, as well as children’s classes.
The highlight of the horticultural calendar was part of Wellesbourne’s Community Day for all the family.
Those who had enough of turnips could enjoy a host of fun activities out on the cricket field including funfair rides, go-carting, a barbecue and the Lions classic car show.
