Delayed tree safety works by River Avon to be carried out

Stratford Editorial 17th Mar, 2016 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016   0

DELAYED safety works are set to be carried out on a number of trees along the River Avon.

Staff from Warwickshire County Council will be cutting down a defected horse chestnut tree and removing deadwood from a lime tree on the Recreation Ground on Thursday (March 17).

The works were originally set to take place on Wednesday (March 9) but were postponed due to flooding in the area.

The nearby pedestrian footpath will be closed while the works – which are expected to last a day – take place.

A diversion route will be in place to direct members of the public away from the area.

Stratford District Council regularly carry out inspections on trees on council-owned land and apologise for any inconvenience the works may cause.
