Cricket World Cup comes to Warwickshire

Stratford Editorial 20th Apr, 2019 Updated: 23rd Apr, 2019   0

THE CRICKET World Cup came to Stratford as part of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Trophy Tour.

To celebrate Warwickshire Cricket Board staged an under 11 cricket festival featuring youngsters from local cricket clubs at Stratford Cricket Club’s Swans Nest Lane ground.

And people had an opportunity to have their photo taken with the trophy that ten nations will be competing for in England and Wales this summer.

Stratford Cricket Club boasts a thriving junior section and will be running four teams (under 9, under 11, under 13 and under 15) this season, as well as coaching for children aged five to eight through the All Stars Cricket initiative and a newly launched girls’ section.
