A COUNCILLOR has resigned from Stratford District Council’s (SDC) Cabinet with immediate effect.
Coun Matt Jennings is stepping down as the Portfolio Holder for Economic Development and Inward Investment due to “personal reasons relating to work commitments”.
The Conservative councillor, who is ward member for Henley, will not be replaced in his role with the responsibilities for his portfolio being transferred to the Portfolio Holder for ICT, Transformation, Tourism and Economic Development.
In paying tribute to the time that Coun Jennings has spent on the Cabinet, Leader of the SDC, Coun Tony Jefferson, said: “Matt has been a very effective and diligent member of the Cabinet team. I will miss his commitment and contributions.”
In his resignation letter to the Leader of the Council, Coun Jennings stated: “This administration has achieved many outstanding milestones and its innovative approach means that the council can offer high quality services to its residents. A hallmark of successful local government. I wish to offer the Cabinet my continued full support going forward”.
