Conservative candidate wins Arden by-election

A CONSERVATIVE has won the Warwickshire County Council by-election in the Arden ward.

The council announced that Ian Shenton had been elected following the poll yesterday (Thursday July 14).

Coun Shenton won 1,609 votes, with Thom Holmes of the Liberal Democrats on 854 votes, and Labour’s Bryn Turner with 251.

The by-election was held after the death of the Conservatives’ Coun John Horner in May 2022 following a very short illness.
