A SINGING student from Stratford College recently shared a stage with a West End star.
Ellie Bradshaw, a second year musical theatre student, was chosen as one of the backing singers for a concert by leading lady Kerry Ellis at Birmingham’s Alexandra Theatre.
Ellis has starred in West End musicals including Wicked – which also took her to Broadway – Les Misérables and Oliver!
Ellie’s big break came after auditioning in November. She had to sing a solo piece and was obviously on song as she was one of only ten selected.
Ellie is hoping to progress to stage school after completing her time at Stratford College and follow in the footsteps of stars like Kerry.
* College creative media students gave musician Andrew James a helping hand with the video for his Christmas charity single this week.
Andrew has recorded ‘I Love You Like Christmas’ in aid of The Big Issue Foundation. An acoustic performance of the single will be released on Youtube as well as Stratcast, the college’s own TV station.
