Charity Christmas card shop launched in Stratford

Stratford Editorial 3rd Nov, 2019   0

IT’S beginning to look a little like Christmas in Stratford.

The Royal National Lifeboat Institution has set up its annual charity Christmas card shop in the United Reformed Church on Rother Street.

Cards sold will raise money for the Midlands Charities Association (MCA) which supports 25 charities including the Air Ambulance, Shakespeare Hospice and Friends of Stratford Hospital.

Stratford Mayor Kate Rolfe was there to officially launch the shop and have the first pickings of the Christmas card crop.

The volunteer-run shop will be open from 10am to 4pm on weekdays and 10am to 2pm on Saturdays. The times may vary when events are held at the church.

Last year the card shop in Stratford raised £13,700 for 28 different local and national charities.

The MCA has raised nearly £9million by selling Christmas cards and sundries since it was founded 52 years ago.
