Body recovered from Avon identified

A BODY found in the Avon has been identified.

Police have confirmed the body they recovered as Cameron Whelan from Birmingham.

Officers discovered the 26-year-old’s body in the Avon last week following a major search operation.

It was thought Cameron jumped in the river on Friday May 25, and his body was recovered by dive teams the following Tuesday.

In a statement his family said: “Cameron will be highly missed, he was loved by everyone who knew him.”
