A BIKER was killed after a crash with a car on the edge of Stratford.

Emergency services were called to the Birmingham Road in Bishopton  around 2.45pm on Sunday (June 14).

The rider – a 42-year-old man from Solihull – had ended up in a ditch after a crashing with an Audi A4 car near the Rybrook Mini Garage.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Ambulance staff found a motorcyclist who had come off his bike and had landed in a ditch at the side of the road.

“Upon assessment by the team of medics, he was found to have sustained multiple traumatic injuries.

“Due to the man’s serious injuries, the doctor took the decision to anaesthetise him at the roadside to try to stabilise his condition.”

But despite being being airlifted to University Hospital, the biker died just before 5pm the same day – just a few hours after the crash.

The driver of the Audi A4 – a 31-year-old man – sustained minor injuries.

Warwickshire Police is now appealing for witnesses who saw the crash of either of the vehicles beforehand.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101.
