A BIKER had to be airlifted to hospital after he was involved in a crash with a car on the A46 near Alcester.

Emergency services including the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham were called to the A46 near Haselor Hill just before 8am on Tuesday (February 17).

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews responded to a collision between a motorbike, which was significantly damaged, and car on the A46. They treated a man in his forties for head lacerations and back injuries.”

The man was put on a stretcher and given pain relief before being flown to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further assessment.

A female car driver was checked over at the scene but did not require hospital treatment.

Both lanes of the A46 were closed for around an hour.
