A NEW operator for Stratford ArtsHouse has finally been revealed.

Venue owner Stratford Town Trust has announced theatrical production company Proon Productions, is in the final stages of a contract agreement to take on the coveted role.

The company founded by duo Rebecca Hallworth and Ellis Creez, has connections with the town and brought the picture book-based children’s show, ‘Hoot Owl’ to the Rother Street Theatre in February.

A spokesperson said: “The Town Trust wishes to thank all those involved in the campaign to save Stratford ArtsHouse and requests that the whole community supports Proon Productions in the running of the ArtsHouse by becoming involved and enabling this venue to become a dynamic and vibrant focal point for the town.”

Former operator the ArtsHouse Trust recently vacated the post after the Town Trust announced it would be pulling the plug on funding because the venue was not sustainable as a business and relied too heavily on hand-outs.
