ART lovers are preparing to go potty as an new event celebrating all things clay comes to Warwickshire.

Potfest by the Lake takes place tomorrow (Friday) until Sunday at historic country house and art gallery Compton Verney.

Potters and ceramicists will be on hand to talk all things pots as well as showcase their wares from contemporary art to garden ornaments and kitchenware.

Potfest will be located on the lawn, with ceramic artists showing their work inside and outside several open-sided marquees, to make the most of the rural surroundings.

Gallery director Julie Finch said: “After we hosted BBC One’s Antiques Roadshow in 2019, we’ve been keen to welcome visitors to the house and park with new events that compliment and enhance outstanding collections, exhibitions and vivid multi arts programme across the site.

“Potfest by the Lake is not only sure to be one of the finest ceramics events in the region, it will also be one of the most diverse, with work ranging from large scale sculptural pieces to fine jewellery, functional domestic ware to contemporary and decorative pieces all for sale from the artists who made them.”

Tickets must be booked in advance and cost £5 for over 18s.
