A woolly weekend for Shipston residents

A WOOLLY weekend was had in Shipston.

The ninth Shipston Wool Fair kicked off with an arts and craft market known as Totally Locally which promotes the benefits of local trade.

New for 2017 was a ‘yarn bombing’ which saw the town decorated with knitted bicycles, ladybirds, sheep, and pom-poms made by Shipston Primary School pupils and Shipston Scouts. These are to be later transformed into blankets, and sent to support a children’s charity in Africa.

Other highlights included an evening of ‘Smooth Weave Jazz’ with Shipston High School students, a pair of stocks with prisoners receiving a damp sponging, and a display of rare breed sheep in the square.
