£3million refurbishment to Warwick Hospital's endoscopy unit completed

A MULTI-MILLION pound project to improve endoscopy services in South Warwickshire has been completed.

The South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust invested £1.75million into the £3.2million project, with the remainder funded by national programme ‘Adapt and Adopt’.

The project includes a full refurbishment of Warwick Hospital’s Endoscopy Unit as well as an extra treatment room, additional recovery bays, a new preparation room and waiting room and hot water boilers and air handling units installed in all areas.

The revamp will also create additional operational capacity to meet growing service demand.

Staff areas and facilities have also been improved during the project with a brand-new booking office and other additions such as changing rooms. The expansion will also provide job opportunities.

Endoscopy lead practitioner Julie Keightley said: “This is a really exciting development. Our department, like the Trust, strives to provide the very best care to our patients. We remained fully operational during the building work, but we are so pleased to now offer an enhanced service and improved environment for more patients.”
