STRATFORD Town’s newly-formed women’s walking football team recently participated in a 16-team tournament organised by the Birmingham Women’s Walking Football League.
The Bards featured in a group with established clubs Birmingham, Arden Forest and Inkberrow.
However, Stratford rose to the challenge and only missed out on top spot in the group due to a last-minute penalty.
Stratford progressed to the finals and played further games against Kettering, Boldmere and Coventry.
The Bards only lost against eventual winners Boldmere.
Stratford will return to the pitch for another tournament in Nottingham next month.
