BARDS Strollers over-50s claimed a deserved 3-1 victory against Worcestershire League side Worcester City Strollers.
The game took place at Claines Lane and the Bards took the lead when Simon Plank’s deflected effort found the net.
However, Worcester responded and drew level through Ade Davies who saw his powerful effort fly into the net from distance.
Stratford reclaimed the lead soon after as Paul Clarke scored a quickfire brace before the break to put the Bards in command.
Worcester won a penalty after the interval only for Mark Preston to deny Steve Bath from the spot.
Stratford match-winner Clarke said: “It was a really good team performance.
“We moved the ball around well and pressed Worcester high up the pitch.
“A great start to 2026 for the Bards.”
Stratford will now turn their attention to The Nest in Norwich to compete in a tournament hosted by the Norwich City Sports Foundation.
