STRATFORD Cycling Club’s youngsters finished a commendable fifth in the overall standings of the 2014 West Midlands Youth Circuit Series, in which 20 clubs took part.

The series was comprised of eight closed circuit races across the region – Wolverhampton Wheelers at Sundorne in Shrewsbury, Wyre Forest CRC at Stourport, Stratford CC at Victoria Park in Leamington, Mid-Shropshire Wheelers at Sundorne in Shrewsbury, Lichfield CC at Curbourgh in Lichfield, Severn Valley Velo at Stourport, Solihull CC at Tudor Grange in Solihull and finishing at Wyre Forest CRC in Stourport.

The competitive series came to a close with the last event at Stourport on July 12. The series allowed the consistent riders to shine and Stratford CC podium places where achieved by Spencer Corder (U8 boys – 2nd), Lewis Tinsley (U8 boys – 3rd) and Cerys Simmonds (U10 girls – 3rd). Fantastic achievements by all three riders in a highly competitive region.

Some Stratford riders had great individual results but were unable to attend all races so they did not get a chance to feature in the overall podium places.
