JUST a week after winning the Tempo 10k, Stratford Athletic Club’s in-form distance runner Richard Shephard took on another stern challenge in the shape of the Bedford Half Marathon.
The single-lap event on rural roads near the county town was well organised and, despite the undulating nature of the course, Shephard was close to his best with a time of 1hr, 13:46.
This gained him third place overall in a field of more than 700, and, even better, was inside the qualifying time for a London Marathon Championship place.
Stratford Athletic Club are hosting the cross country league at the Welcombe Hills this Saturday.
