KEVIN Taylor scooped an active award at the Make A Difference Awards held by BBC Coventry and Warwickshire.
The former mayor of Stratford-upon-Avon has spent the last six years promoting the sport of table tennis.
And Taylor was honoured for creating opportunities in the sport for people of all ages and abilities.
He also provided inclusive opportunities for players with Alzheimer’s, dementia and Parkinson’s.
Speaking to BBC CWR, Taylor said: “We’re a minority sport, this is a huge win for table tennis.
“It will help us promote the real benefits that everybody gets from it.”
