TABLE TENNIS - Stratford-upon-Avon Table Tennis League season heats up

THE latest round of matches took place in the Stratford-upon-Avon Table Tennis League.

Just four points separate the top three teams in Division One with the title race to go down to the wire.

Shottery secured a commanding 14-7 victory against Stratford Paddles as Gary Stewart remained unbeaten on the night.

Elsewhere, Stratford-upon-Avon Tigers earned a stunning 9-8 win against league leaders Bengeworth as Jack Ganderton produced an outstanding performance.

In Division Two, Henley edged out Willersey B 9-8 in a thrilling encounter as Barry Quirke delivered a match-winning performance.

And in Division Three, an all-Stratford clash saw the club’s Red team emerge as 9-7 winners against the Blue team as Joshua Marston impressed.




Elsewhere, a number of young players from Stratford competed in the Warwickshire Schools Individual Championships at Meon Vale Leisure Centre.

Some seven junior players represented their respective schools at the event.


Jack Ganderton, Max Tanqueray, Leo Burdett, Edie Kelly, Gavreel Brannan, Jess Barrow and Julien Deleau-Lees all represnted the region with pride.

And Tanqueray finished as runner-up in the under-13 category.
