THE Stratford-upon-Avon Table Tennis League remains in full swing despite the mid-season withdrawal of reigning champions Snitterfield.
Snitterfield withdrew from the league due to a player shortage although the competition’s future remains bright with participation levels at an all-time high.
And more teams are set to join the league after Christmas to further strengthen and expand the competition.
In Division One, current leaders Stratford Racketeers cemented their place at the top of the table with a resounding 15-2 win against club stablemates Stratford Tigers.
A commanding performance from Peter Barrow saw him win the player of the match award.
Elsewhere, Shottery kept the pressure on Racketeers with a convincing 12-4 victory against Henley.
A sublime performance from Gary Stewart kept Shottery within striking distance of leaders Racketeers.
In Division Two, a highly-anticipated clash between Stratford Paddles and Stratford Jets lived up to its billing.
Paddles secured a decisive 12-7 victory to avenge their only defeat of the season to date.
Club chair Kevin Taylor stole the show, remaining unbeaten as he clinched a dramatic five-set thriller against Phil Patrick in the match of the night.
Elsewhere, Stratford MND produced a stellar performance to beat FISSC as rising star Seth Warner proved the standout player as he remained undefeated to underline his potential.
In Division Three’s only game, league leaders Willersey B claimed a narrow 10-8 win against Stratford Edge Shots in a closely-contested match.
And Stratford’s junior boys team secured an impressive 15-6 victory against local rivals Littleton Panthers as Charlie Shuker and also Leo Burdett delivered outstanding performances.
