STRATFORD-upon-Avon table tennis club player Debs Barrow helped her side lift the league title in the British Clubs League.

Barrow, representing Ellenborough Table Tennis Club, helped her team to the veteran ladies Division Two title.

Elsewhere, in the league, Stratford Tigers beat Stratford Paddles 12-6 as Jack Ganderton starred for the Tigers.

Ganderton overturned 5-1 and 8-1 deficits to beat club chair Kevin Taylor in two sets.

In Division Two, Stratford MND edged out Willersey B 12-9 as Ian Cooper finished the evening undefeated for the latter side.

And Ilmington powered to a 15-4 win against FISSC as new signing Tim Lawrence and Rick Burgess impressed.

The Stratford-upon-Avon Table Tennis and District Association also hosted the Sona Cup – a knockout competition between clubs in the Stratford league.

Teams from Division Two and Division Three battled it out to reach the next round of the competition.

Stratford chair Taylor will also lead the fanzone activities at the Mark Bates National Table Tennis Championships next month.

More than 30 children from Stratford-upon-Avon Primary School, Broad Street and Holy Trinity C of E Primary School will attend the National Championships.

And the club will also receive a visit from newly-appointed Table Tennis England CEO Sally Lockyer on Friday, February 28.
