A TRIO of Stratford Sharks Swimming Club members excelled at the Regional Open Water Championships.
The event took place at Lake 86 in Cirencester as two of the club’s swimmers secured podium finishes.
In the 40 to 49 age group, Katie Wilcox won gold in the 2km event.
And Charly Marshall took silver in the 19-plus age group in the 5km event.
Both Wilcox and Marshall have secured qualification for the National Open Water Championships which take place at the end of July.
And in the 11/12-year-old category, Beth Robotham finished fifth for the West Midlands region in the 1km event.
Stratford Sharks head coach, Kim Mortimer said: “These results reflect the hard work and dedication of our local swimmers.
“We look forward to seeing Katie and Charly compete on a national stage and are proud to celebrate their achievements.”
Elsewhere, Stratford took a team of nine to 12-year-olds to the third leg of the Nuneaton Junior League.
The team secured a fourth-place finish and are waiting to discover which teams have qualified for the final stage of the competition in September later this year.
