MOTHER and son duo, Ali Skirvin and Theo Skirvin, both starred for Stratford Sharks Swimming Club in Birmingham.
Ali and Theo took part in the University of Birmingham masters meet and delivered an array of fine performances.
Ali won gold in both the 50m backstroke and 200m breaststroke while she also took silver in the 50m breaststroke and bronze in the 50m freestyle.
And Theo achieved personal best times in the 50m freestyle and 50m butterfly events.
The club’s masters swimmers are currently preparing for the British Masters Championships which take place from June 13 to 15 in London.
Ali will race in the 50m and 100m backstroke, 100m freestyle and 100m breaststroke.
And Stratford swimmer Neil Truscott will compete in the 50m and 100m backstroke events.
The competition is the highest level of domestic masters swimming in Great Britain.
And the club are also celebrating the achievements of some of their younger swimmers.
Talented 13-year-old Harry Connor will compete in the 100m breaststroke at the prestigious Aquatics GB Next Gen Championships.
The championships take place from July 19 to 25 at the Ponds Forge International Sports Centre in Sheffield.
Harry will then join fellow Sharks swimmer Jacob Smith, also aged 13, at the Swim England National Summer Meet in the 200m breaststroke.
Jacob has also qualified for the 100m breaststroke and 200m individual medley races.
Stratford Sharks head coach, Kim Mortimer said: “We are incredibly proud of our swimmers, from our masters competitors to our younger athletes who are stepping onto the national stage.
“Their dedication, perseverance and passion for the sport are inspiring.
“At Stratford Sharks, we believe swimming is not just about winning medals but about personal growth, discipline and the friendships formed along the way.
“With the right support, these swimmers can continue reaching new heights and making a positive impact in our community.”
The club are inviting local businesses to contact the club regarding corporate sponsorship.
This includes main club sponsorship or specific event sponsorship while swimmers would also welcome contributions towards kit, provisions, travel and accommodation.
Sponsorship would also help cover pool time, coaching and competition fees.
