STRATFORD School’s under-14 girls team have reached the quarter-finals of the English Schools Football Association championships for a second year in a row.
Stratford romped to a 6-1 win against Dene Magna from Gloucestershire in the northern section of the Sisters in Sport championship to advance to the last eight.
The girls (last year under-13’s) have also reached the county finals and district semi-finals.
Coach Paul Turrell said: “Football in general is going from strength to strength since we’ve introduced the football academy pathway.
“The girls section now consists of five age groups with both the under-13’s and under-14’s both competing to high standard.
“We are hoping to grow the provision further in future years and still have places available.”
The team comprises of: Millie Clark, Skye Holtom, Scarlett Burkitt, Marley Wright, Chloe Jones, Dita Nicholls, Amaya Atkins, Laura Lewis, Clara Zaffigiani, Daisy Douglas, Nol Ncube, Ella Taylor Noble and Seren Welsh.
