Sharks take the plunge to help hospice

Stratford Editorial 26th Sep, 2016 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016   0

STRATFORD Sharks swimmers helped raise more than £750 for charity when they took part in The Shakespeare Hospice 10K Big Swim at Stratford Leisure Centre.

The centre is the principal base for Stratford Sharks Swimming Club, so it was only natural the Sharks took part in huge numbers.

“The Shakespeare Hospice is our preferred charity,” said club chairman Jonathan Penny.

“They carry out amazing work in our community, providing support and care for those in the area confronted with a life-limiting illness.”

Six teams of ten Sharks swimmers each completed the 10K and raised the fine amount which, this year, is targeted at the young persons’ cancer unit at the hospice.
