WITH no first team action at Pearcecroft, Stratford-upon-Avon RFC’s Colts team, this year merged with Claverdon, took centre stage.

The Colts romped to a 50-0 win against Coventry Welsh and Pinley Colts as Jago Vialan scored the game’s first try after just three minutes from a driving maul.

Stratford struck again soon after as Jimmy Lewitt picked up the ball from the base of a ruck and weaved down the blindside to score after good work from Ben Young.

The home side scored their third try through Sam Morris before Thomas Phillips burst through a tackle to dot down in the corner.

And Stratford scored again straight from the kick-off when Tom Bates’s dummy sent Phillips down the right wing for another converted try as the home team led by 29 points at the interval.

Stratford picked up where they left off after the break as Bates sniped over from close range after a strong carry from Callum Patterson.

And the home side extended their lead when Lewitt crossed for his second try under the posts after a Coventry penalty failed to find touch.

Stratford completed the scoring straight from the restart as Lewitt rounded off a man of the match performance with another try under the posts.
