STRATFORD-upon-Avon Boat Club’s participation squad won a bronze medal at the Kings School Indoor Rowing Competition in Worcester.
The club sent a small team of rowers to the annual event with the majority of the squad only taking up the sport three months ago.
Stratford competed against more experienced rowers from seven other clubs with more than 300 competitors using 20 indoor rowing machines.
And Stratford’s rowers set five new personal bests (PB’s) and placed fourth in two individual races before eventually securing bronze in the girls’ year nine mixed relay event.
Stratford’s participation squad coach, Ralph Johnson said: “The squad were understandably very pleased with their day’s work and look forward to more events.”
