STRATFORD-upon-Avon Boat Club’s J15 squad represented the West Midlands region at the Junior Inter-Regional Regatta.
Some 129 clubs represented 16 regions at the prestigious event held in Nottingham.
A total of three Stratford crews represented the West Midlands region at the event.
In the 1,000m time trials, Connor Birrell qualified for the D final in the open single scull event after he places 20th out of 32 rowers.
And the WJ15 4+ crew of Martina Bruce, Meredith Paul, Bethany Hammond, Raya Hothi and Lillian Parsons (coxswain) qualified for the C final.
Abi Dunn took part in the women’s single scull event and overcame an illness to finished ahead of other scullers.
Later in the event, Birrell finished ahead of a Thames London rower to finish fourth in the D final.
Stratford’s WJ15 4+ crew held the lead for much of their final but eventually crossed the line in second place behind the East Midlands.
And Dunn finished fifth in the E final of the women’s single sculls.
Stratford’s J15 coach, Dave Parkin said: “There was some really strong competition out there and the crews performed well against the competition, showing they are applying their training, maintaining their composure under race pressure and are set up for good results going forward.”
Elsewhere, Stratford’s women’s masters E IV crew of Jane Cryer, Charlotte Jones, Abby Symons and Caroline Collins took part in their inaugural race at the Birmingham Regatta held on Edgbaston Reservoir.
A strong start and consistent race pace of 34 strokes per minute saw the crew close a six-second head start to opponents Bewdley who triumphed by a canvas in a close finish.
Stratford’s women’s masters E double of Ellie Davis and Gina Fusco also took to the water at the Birmingham Regatta.
The pair also lost by a canvas to an experienced masters D crew from Milton Keynes who had a five-second handicap applied.
Elsewhere, Stratford rower Kjersti Rogneflaten-Woolley represented the club at the Scottish Rowing Spring Regatta held at Strathclyde Park.
Rogneflaten-Woolley raced in a composite crew with a Loch Lomond Rowing Club sculler in the masters G2x race.
The pair struggled owing to a high tail wind and just missed out on a bronze medal.
Rogneflaten-Woolley then raced in masters G4x race in another composite crew and took gold with rowers from Loch Lomond and Castle Semple Rowing Club.
Rogneflaten-Woolley said: “I was so grateful for rowing with these wonderful women and having a great time in Scotland.”
