STRATFORD-upon-Avon Boat Club’s masters’ crews enjoyed double success at Stourport Boat Club’s Small Boats Head.
The women’s double crew of Suzie Radley and Amanda Bowden made the most of a fast stream to complete the 4k course in just 14 minutes and 34 seconds.
Radley steered a great line and the overhead cloud cover meant she did not have the disadvantage of staring into the sun with no crews within reach of the Stratford pair
And Stratford’s mixed double of Kjersti Rogneflaten Woolley and Gary Clay raced together for the first time since last June.
Despite being overtaken by a men’s junior coxed quad who started just behind them, the duo overtook two other masters’ women’s doubles and sprinted across the line to claim a narrow victory.
