DANNY Janes stressed FC Stratford need to use their hard-earned point at then table-toppers Cheltenham Saracens as the benchmark for the rest of the season.
It ended 1-1, with Jagjit Augla on target to give Stratford a first-half lead before Harry Daubney headed an equaliser in the top-of-the-table Hellenic League Division One South contest.
“The most pleasing aspect was our performance, if we maintain that level of quality then we will also be in the mix. I wanted more leaders and players who continuously shared our tactical messages, I saw that in abundance,” he said.
“We had 85% of players at an 8/10, which is why we have delivered that level of performance. We now must deliver again next week as we look to build on this performance, the results will take care of themselves if the players show that level of focus and application.”
FC Stratford have slipped to fifth in the table, but just a point behind pacesetters Clanfield as they prepare to entertain Pershore Town on Saturday.
