LUKE GREEN was crowned The Welcombe Golf Club’s champion golfer for the second successive year following some highly impressive rounds of golf.
The Club Championship was played over 36 holes over two days and from a very competitive field of more than 60 players it was Green (3) who eased himself into the lead over the last nine holes as he played some superb golf.
Playing off a handicap of 3, he carded gross scores of 74+68=142 to become club champion. Runner-up was Andy Rigg (4) with 77+77=154. In third place was Jonty Edmonds (7) who carded 76+79=155.
