Glory for dedicated Mills

Stratford Editorial 20th Apr, 2017   0

RICHARD MILLS claimed his first competition win since he began shooting in 1982 when he triumphed in the Stratford & District Airgun League’s Norman Dale Cup contest at Wilmcote.

This competition is limited to shooters with a league average score of 30 or below from at least two matches.

In the first round it was the shooters who hit threes that were eliminated. Mills secured his place in the final having defeated Marc Anderton and Derek Powers.

Ian Powell had a bye into the semi-finals in which he got one bull more than Sam Green to book a place in the final.

In the final, with seven shots and clean bulls counting as 5.1 points, Powell shot just one bull and six fours for a final score of 29 points.

Mills had a poor start with a loose three but came back with a clean bull and two fours followed by another clean bull and two more fours for a final score of 29.2 points.
