STRATFORD Town saw their four-game winning run come to an end following a 2-0 defeat at Redditch United as Chris Hussey saw red in the first half.

Goals in either half from Alex Cameron and Danny King condemned the Bards to defeat while Stratford defender Hussey saw red at the Valley Stadium.

And the result means Stratford sit seventh in the Southern League Premier Central table, outside of the play-off places on goal difference.

Matt Clarke’s side took the lead on 20 minutes as Cameron tapped home King’s square ball at the back post after excellent work from the latter to hold off his marker.

The Bards almost drew level soon after as Paul McCone’s header bounced down off the crossbar and onto the line before Redditch scrambled the ball to safety.

However, the visitors suffered a blow on 37 minutes when Bards player Hussey saw red for committing a foul as the last defender.

Chances were at a premium in the second half before King settled the game on 78 minutes after cutting inside and blasting home from Musa Ceesay’s pass.

Stratford are next in action at home to Coalville Town on Saturday, December 2 with kick-off at 3pm at the Arden Garages Stadium.
