STRATFORD Town’s promising youngster Devonn O’Sullivan has gone on trial with Championship side Stoke City.

O’Sullivan joined the Bards in the summer and scored his first goal for the club in a dramatic 2-2 draw with Warwickshire rivals Leamington at the Arden Garages Stadium on Boxing Day last year.

The teenage midfielder joined Northern Premier League Midlands side Rugby Town on dual registration in January.

Stratford chairman Jed McCrory said: “Stoke City have contacted Stratford Town Football Club to take Devonn O’Sullivan on trial.

“I’m delighted that one of our academy students who has been involved with the first team this season has been recognised.

“Devonn has made rapid development and a lot of credit should go to the academy coaches who have been instrumental in his progress.

“This is further evidence that the pathway provided through Stratford Town Football Club can support local football players in their chosen careers within our community.”

Academy manager, Chris McCoy, added: “We are thrilled to share that Devonn O’Sullivan has been invited to trial with Stoke City.

“This incredible opportunity is a testament to Devonn’s maturity, hard work, dedication and undeniable talent.

“We wish him all the very best of luck as he embarks on this exciting journey.”
