STRATFORD Town saw their nine-game unbeaten run in the league come to an end following a narrow 1-0 home defeat against Spalding United.
After a goalless first period, Joseph Nyahwema scored the winner for the visitors on 74 minutes at the Arden Garages Stadium.
The result means Stratford sit seventh in the Southern League Premier Central table, two points outside of the play-off places.
Both teams paid their respects before kick-off with a minute’s silence prior to Remembrance Sunday.
Chances were at a premium in the first half as Callum Ebanks saw his shot charged down before Tony Breeden turned Lewis Ludford-Ison’s effort behind for a corner.
Breeden kept the game scoreless after the break as he tipped Tom Solanke’s fierce drive over the crossbar early in the second period.
However, Spalding snatched the points when Nyahwema broke free down the right and fired a shot past Bards goalkeeper Jake Weaver.
Stratford are next in action against AFC Sudbury on Saturday, November 16 with kick-off at 3pm at MEL Group Stadium.
