STRATFORD Town saw their Easter Monday game against Alvechurch abandoned after two players and a supporter required hospital treatment.

Bards forward Jack Storer suffered from chest problems late in the second half at the Arden Garages Stadium and was taken to hospital.

That came after Church’s on-loan defender Isaac Godwin sustained a broken leg early in the second period and was stretchered from the field.

Godwin’s grandfather collapsed and was also taken to hospital.

The referee abandoned the game after 77 minutes.

Stratford led 3-0 at the time of the abandonment as Storer opened the scoring before Charlie Williams netted a brace.

The league will now make a decision as to whether or not the game needs to be replayed.

That came after Stratford suffered a 2-1 defeat at title hopefuls Bedford Town two days previously.

First-half goals from Leon Lobjoit and Edward Panter put the home side into an early two-goal lead at The Eyrie.

The Bards reduced the deficit courtesy of Dan Lafferty’s strike but could not find a leveller in the remaining minutes.
