STRATFORD Town conceded at the death in a 2-2 draw against Spalding United as the hosts twice surrendered the lead.

A late goal from Cyrus Bruce looked to have earned the Bards all three points at the Arden Garages Stadium.

However, James Clifton scored a 95th-minute equaliser for the visitors after Yusifu Ceesay cancelled out Ty Deacon’s opener.

The result means Stratford sit 18th in the Southern League Premier Central table, above the relegation zone on goal difference.

The Bards broke the deadlock on 33 minutes when Deacon produced a clinical finish from Owen James’ pass.

However, Spalding drew level on 58 minutes as Ceesay turned his marker before coolly finding the bottom right corner.

Stratford reclaimed the lead three minutes from time when substitute Bruce slipped his marker to score from Henry Landers’ pass.

However, the visitors snatched a point five minutes into injury time as Clifton slid home Jordan Nicholson’s cross at the death.

Stratford are next in action against Barwell on Tuesday, September 9 with kick-off at 7.45pm at the Arden Garages Stadium.
